Lantha Sensors is to Chemical Analysis what the Polaroid was to the camera

Until 1948, photographers had to make significant investments in cameras and darkroom equipment in order to take and print their photos. Edwin Land devised a convenient and affordable method to control one of the fundamental properties of light: polarization. His polarizer made it possible to reliably and practically filter light so only wavelengths with a particular orientation would pass through. Land founded the Polaroid Corporation to commercialize his new technology, eliminating the need for pricey equipment and enabling even the middle class to capture instant photos.

Fast forward to today, Lantha Sensors is bringing chemical analysis to the field, much like a Polaroid camera. With accuracy to the ppm level, Lantha's universal reader and disposable test strips offer a safe alternative to high cost, slow trace chemical analysis such as fluorimetry, FTIR, NMR and Karl Fischer titration.

Completely portable, durable, and inexpensive, Lantha Sensors is revolutionizing dozens of industries dependent on quantitative chemical data. The ease of operation means Anyone can use it, Anytime , Anywhere .

PORTABLE

Replace complex & expensive equipment with an easy-to-use handheld device

SIMPLE

Immediate results that are visible to the naked eye, simplifying analytical processes and saving you valuable time

QUANTITATIVE

Fast and accurate results measuring contaminants to the parts per million (ppm) level

BROAD SCOPE

Our sensor material can detect a wide range of analytes including trace water in heavy water

CUSTOMIZABLE

We can tailor any test-strip to your chemical sensing needs

ACCURATE

Double-blind testing has ensured our product is as accurate and precise as comparable NMR and KFT tests

Traditional chemical analysis methods are expensive and slow,

requiring highly trained staff and expensive laboratory equipment

WE THINK IT'S TIME TO CHANGE THAT

ANALYSIS SIMPLIFIED

Founded in 2019 by a team of world class business people, scientists and technologists, Lantha spun out of the University of Texas' College of Natural Sciences research group, led by Professor Simon Humphrey.  Capitalizing on breakthrough discoveries in the field of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) where a chemical sensor is able to detect parts-per-million concentrations of various chemicals, the team quickly organized funding to finish development of Lantha’s first commercial product.  UT and Humphrey co-own a patent on the material, and license it to Lantha, where Humphrey acts as Chief Technology Officer.

Lantha's core product is underpinned by a deep set of technologies developed over ten years. Today, the team at Lantha is focusing on application in a few key markets, while preparing the company for the onslaught of potentially hundreds of uses and dozens of products from this technology.  The team remains academic and curious in nature and appreciates the opportunity to address tough analytical or detection problems from the field.

Lantha Sensors seeks to revolutionize the entire chemical analysis industry via disruptive innovation and product development focused on simplifying the complex. It's Analysis Simplified.
